Description
110 years of Contreras in a 190 year old brewery. In 1818 Brewery Latte was founded as a typical farm-brewery. In the second half of the 19th century the company was led by Valère Latte who sold the brewery in 1898 to René Contreras. In 1920 René Contreras chose to sell his brewery to his nephew Marcel Contreras. it was Marcel who would transform the brewery into a modern 20th century company. He shaped the buildings as they currently still remain. In 1982 Marcel's son Willy became the sole manager of the brewery. At the start of the 21st century Ann Contreras, the only daughter of Willy Contreras, and her fiancée Frederik De Vrieze gradually took over the daily management of the brewery.

Bottle. It’s a hazy, sparkling golden beer with a yellowish hue. Dense white head soon diminishing. Nice peppery hops on the nose, quite fruity, with some wheaty touch and a hint of yeast. There’s a little unpleasant touch of sourness in the mouth, else it’s a really nice one. Peppery hops, good bitterness, fruits, pale malts. Smooth, slightly warming and full-bodied. Maybe a bit sweet overall, but with a good bitterness in the finish to make you forget that. Nice. 100227

Sampled on tap at Max’s Belgian Fest. Pours a very hazy, golden yellow with a cloudy white head. Aroma of citrus fruits, flowers, a little perfume. Flavor is sweet, lemons. Finish is sweet and a little bitter. Something kind of different. Side by side with all the sugary Belgian beers at the festival, this was a nice change of pace.

Tap at Max’s. Cloudy straw colored, small white head. Aroma of spider web. Yeasty, doughy taste, decent enough malt, but not very exciting. I agree with Tarheels86: Meh. Not sure what Meh means, but it fits.

Draught at Pizzeria Paradiso, recommendation from Darrell. Cloudy, stormy yellow with a white head that disappears rapidly but leaves incredible lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and lemon. Similar taste of both, with a bit of pepper. Very very dry with a slightly bitter finish. Well done.
