Description
In 2011 we Howling Hops reopened the Cock tavern on Mare street as Hackney’s first brewpub. The brewery expanded a few times but still couldn’t really keep up with the demand. So in 2015 the brewery moved to the current address in the heart of Hackney Wick.
Howling Hops brew bold, modern, uncompromised, flavoursome, generously hopped beers. All our beers are unfiltered, unpasteurised and suitable for vegans. We still stick to our early philosophy of ‘make some interesting beer’, although not every one is different these days. We have a core of 4 beers that we brew regularly, a couple of beers we brew seasonally and every 3 or 4 weeks we brew a different single batch beer.

Tap at Waterloo Tap. Aroma has spice and doughy malts. Fruity streak. Hazy-opaque gold. Thing foamy white head also has decent lacing. Flavourwise it has spice and sour fruit over sweeter fruity and a doughy element. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat-soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Nice enough HSIPA.

Hazy golden amber with a frothy white head and a jammy hop aroma. Smooth and malty, fruity with resinous hop bitterness and a dry bitter fruity finish.

1/3 pint @ Anspach taproom, London.
