(Bottle) Hazy straw with decent white head. Pleasant citrusy aroma. Light body, good carbonation. Refreshing clean citrusy foretaste, a bit bland after that with some slightly harsh bitterness in the finish. Overall, OK but not special.

Pours golden amber with a large fading head.Nose shows sweet bready malt, floral hops and hints of citrus. Quite soft, almost plain.Similar flavours, hints of lemon, off-putting bready/grainy malt and a metallic bitterness.Carbonation is too high.

Pours amber with a small head.Nose shows light fruit (apples, white grapes), doughy wheat and a hint of lemon.Flavours include some more fruit and wheat but also a grainy/dirty malt character.Carbonation is a bit full on.Another average attempt at a hefeweizen by an aussie brewer... seems to be a style we struggle at.

Pours black with a large tan head.Nose shows chocolate, treacle and raisins. Nice stuff.Big roasty flavours, lots of chocolate and molasses. Pretty full on.Low carbonation works well with the rich flavours.

Bottle. Pale amber with an inch of white head. Aroma of pine, citrus and light caramel. Light sweetness with caramel and a little biscuit, bitterness is very solid and takes over quickly. Piney bitter finish. Not much going on under the hops and they’re a bit harsh.

Pours amber with a large, lasting head.Nose shows lots of sweet, clean malt and floral fruity hops.A fair whack of hops shows in the taste as well, with bold piney, resinous notes and hints of tropical fruit amongst the sweet malt. Finishes strongly with a audacious, slightly metallic bitterness.Too much carbonation creates an overly dry finish.

Bottle. Black, light tan head fades from an inch to a good coat. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, grass, licorice, hints of citrus and dark berries. Mouthfilling but light bodied with considerable carbonation that’s perhaps slightly overdone. Taste has some roasted bitterness, more caramel and chocolate, with decent balancing bitterness and slight coffee astringency at the end. Tasty enough with great balance - not trying to be anything other than a really good ordinary beer. I can’t think of an Australian stout that’s this sessionable. The sort of beer that you could build a business around.

Bottle. Pale orange with a modest white head. Mild fruity aroma with some grass, faint lemon, earth and spices. Thinnish mouthfeel. Taste has light grainy sweetness, some pears, a little lager-like sourness. Slightly bitter finish with some spice and earth. Pleasant enough and the hybrid features are there but lacks presence.

From a 330ml bottle on 24/4/2011. Pours a clear straw colour with a big head. Has a slight aroma of grains, malt and citrus hops. In the mouth, zesty, lemony, slightly salty hops dominate after a bit of bready malt up front. Drinkable but unremarkable.

From a 330ml bottle on 12/5/2010. This is a nice, rather subtle APA. Has a fruity, grassy aroma. In the mouth, it’s malty and sweetish, with dried fruit notes (perhaps raisins), and has a satisfying hoppy finish. Not a big beer for its style, but nicely balanced none the less. Rating 3.6
