Commissioned for the Donatusfeesten of Westmeerbeek. Thick, off-white, moussy foam, deep chestnut robe with burgundy hue, lightly misty. Aroma of dried fruits, raisins, pear syrup, cloves, coffee grounds, fondant, yoghurt and alas, some H2S (rotten egg). Restrained fruity taste, dry, soft carbonation, smooth nutty malt base, finishing in a roasted bitterness. Clearly an old-fashioned Scotch-style beer, too bad the aroma was spoiled.

Bottle @ home. Hazy to murky pale yellow color with small yeast residu floating in it, average to medium sized quite quickly diminishing white head. Smell and taste malts, herbs or spices, soap. Not very nice. Taste malts, herbs or spices, some orangepeel, lightly sweet-bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Overall not very good though.

8/V/14 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: XII/2017 (not sure, marks on the side of the label were not very clear) (2014-486)

Clear pale blond beer, big creamy off-white head, little stable. Aroma: very sweet, orange peel, sugary, fruity, some spices, bit dusty. No cannabis smell though. How could they miss such an opportunity? Like any hoppy blond Dupont beer always smells like cannabis, just imitate that or something! :p MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, lots of orange peel, dusty, some cardboard, little bitter. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, bit grassy, sweet and malty, little bit of citrus, some caramel. Meh.

Vilvordia Bierproeffestival. More marzipan than cannabis… Weird!

Just another Belgian tripel. Bit more flat than the usual stuff. Drinkable, but boring.

Weird, don’t know what to make of it. The spices are nice, but don’t work too well with the other ingredients.

Average Belgian dubbel. It’s nice and all, but just not very interesting. So many of these.

Bottle at Le Bier Circus, Brussels on 24th January 2014. Amber with lasting thick, off white lacing foam. Caramel malt aromas. Sweetish maltiness in-mouth and a somewhat drier finish. Light mouthfeel and medium body.
