Bottle split on the 42nd floor, thanks to Kenny, 10/11/15. Dark mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is rich malt, spice, toffee, earthy, mud, light beetroot strains. Taste comprises brown bread, earthy, biscuit, toasted brown sugar, root veg twizzle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok, have had more prominent beetroot flavours in a beer bit pretty well balanced for the style.

Bottle shared in London on the 42nd floor - many thanks to Kenny. Pours unclear brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds damp wood, faint toffee, leathery berries. Medium sweet flavor with rich bready malts, earthy bitterness, more leathery berries. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish with notes of toffee, ripe fruits, berries, leather, wood, earth. Not bad overall.

Opaque dark brown beer, big yellowish pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, medium roasty bitterness and tang. Little dark chocolate. Mild coconut sweetness provides some relief. Light finish. Bitter linger. Not the sweetest of sweet stouts.

500ml bottle conditioned: BBD 4th Feb 16. Poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 17th Sep 15. Walked the dog, hung out the washing, dish washer filled and on: all tasks in order, lunch and a pint for this live rating. Slight haze to the deep old golden body, the head a huge off-white foaming pillow of foam. Bitter hops rule the brew completely, the malts appear to just add a bit of colour but have no other impact on the brew, a mild fruit trace as the beer warmed in the glass maybe, but otherwise not a lot of Malt action. It is a long time since I have had such a bitter Bitter, really enjoyed it.
