500ml bottle from Luvians Bottleshop in St Andrews. The noisy pour reveals a golden body under a fading, slightly off-white head reduced to a patch on the surface. Smell of lemony fruits. Spicy and fruity hops in flavour alongside a touch of nutty malt. The best part was the soft and rounded spicy bitterness on the swallow. Dry and easy going. The bottle version is now available in Norway [31.10.2008].

500ml bottle from a Luvian shop in St Andrews. The pour reveals a dense, off-white head over a golden brown body. Great display of laceworks. Smell of dry, sweet malts. Spicy and roasted malts up front with dark fruits coming through. Some hints of alcohol beneath. Satisfying bitter ending. A wee heavy beer that was rather well bodied [28.10.2008].

I had this one quite a few times during a couple of weeks in St Andrews, both on cask and from 500ml bottles. Clear brown body. Bubbly, frothy beige head with fair lacing. Smell of sweet, earthy malts. Taste of chocolate and caramel malts, carefully mixed with spicy hops. Underlying smoky notes. Gentle bitter endnotes. Soft in the mouth. Aroma and taste are a bit more prominent in the cask version compared with the filtered bottle edition. The bottle version is also available from a few shops in Norway, even as far north as Tromsø [Late Oct. and early Nov. 2008].

From cask at Clockwork. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small yet dense off-white head. Dark fruity and roasted malty aroma. Light breadish and dark fruity flavoured. Holds a mild liqourice like note to a mild roasted malt base. Mild spiced malty yet also with a light acidic note arising out of the malt flavours. Bitter and dry finish.
