Heretic Brewing Company
Microbrewery
in Fairfield,
California,
United States 🇺🇸
Associated Venue: Heretic Brewing Company
Established in 2011
We started by sharing a building with another brewery in 2011, but we always brewed our beer ourselves. Within the first six months we realized there wasn’t enough space for two breweries in one building, so we began the search for a new place. By 2013, we had built a new, modern brewery in the wonderful city of Fairfield, California and moved all our operations there, including our new distillery.

Bottle, 22oz. A more or less clear one, copper-colored and topped by a dense, off-white head of moderate size. Quite hoppy nose, some fruity sourness blending in, and a faint touch of sweetish malts. Pine cones too. Rather bitter on the palate, full-bodied and with a pleasant carbonation. Lemon peel, pine cones and a malty sweetness in the flavor, as well as some fruity sourness. Lasting finish with lots of bitterness, a good dash of fruityness, some peaches, and sweetness. A quite pleasant one, although a bit over the top. 120817

Bottle, 22oz. A lightly hazy, golden-orange beer topped by a finger-thick, dense, off-white head. Really, really piney aroma, with some peaches in the back. Fruity, quite sugary too. The flavor is really bitter and piney, with resins, some peppery hints and a touch of something peppery. Full-bodied, quite sweet, although totally overpowered by the hoppy bitterness. Lasting finish with the bitterness dominating. Although a bit too much on the bitter side, it’s a really fine beer. 120817

The Chardonnay shines in this beer. If you like wine and beer, this is for you. A very nice beer.

Bottle - Sweet molasses from the malts with some flowery hops in the background. Small head and cloudy brown hue. Citrus hops throughout with a bitterness to match. Some malt notes lurking in the back, but not too pronounced. Will definitely try again.
