Heretic Brewing Company
Microbrewery
in Fairfield,
California,
United States 🇺🇸
Associated Venue: Heretic Brewing Company
Established in 2011
We started by sharing a building with another brewery in 2011, but we always brewed our beer ourselves. Within the first six months we realized there wasn’t enough space for two breweries in one building, so we began the search for a new place. By 2013, we had built a new, modern brewery in the wonderful city of Fairfield, California and moved all our operations there, including our new distillery.

Tap at DC Kanda. Roasted cacao nib with nutella and coffee notes. Smooth and very nice on the palate. Hides the abv well. Some peanut butter richness. Dry and not sweet. This is certainly a top notch porter. Very rich and full bodied. The hazelnut is appropriately balanced but prominent. From BevMo. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Qbricks final night. This triple ipa is a beautiful orange color with a rich orange blossom citrus hop bouquet. The taste is intensely sweet orange and malty caramel with a dry finish. Really good stuff that hides that high ABV supremely well.

Keg at Beer Craft, Santa Rosa, 03/02/16. Cherry red with little in the way of a head. Nose is tarte cherry skins, sharp citric infuse, red berry balsams, light herbal notes. Taste comprises pissy berry notes, damp hay, light funk, balsa wood, tarte cherry cough drop. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, acidic rise. Ok sour.

Can from Deeside Drinks Emporium. Clear golden/amber body with a medium white head. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of pine, orange, tomato juice and grapefruit. Flavour of nettles, honey, resinous hops and a peppery finish. Medium body with a very oily texture. Soft fizz. Delicious hop juice.

Bottle from the brewery. It pours a clear pale yellow color with a fizzy white head that disappears. The aroma has wheat and very lightly toasted grains. Hints of lemon and herbs. The flavor has some lightly herbal hops, strong wheat and very light tartness. The body is a bit dull for the style, but still somewhat refreshing. A bit more lemony tartness and a lower gravity would probably help this one.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a very clear pale pink color with a small white head. The aroma has wheat and light notes of berries. The flavor is the same. Strong wheat malt, lighter notes of funk and berry-like sweetness. Very light bodied. Seems more like a fruited wheat beer. Ok.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a dark amber color with a khaki head. The aroma has some noticeable notes of copper pennies, cherries, fig and brown sugar. The flavor is rich and sweet with cherries, fig, plum, wood and hints of alcohol. Rich, sweet cherry finish. The aroma was a little weird with the pennies, but the flavor was good.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a lightly hazed, very pale yellow color with a white head. The aroma has big apricot notes with hints of lemon, wheat and pepper. Mostly fresh, ripe fruit. The flavor has more apricot, lemon, grass and pepper. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Peppery yeast finish. Really well done. The balance of fruit and Saison character is spot on.
