Keg @ Castle Hotel, Manchester. Clear golden with a small head. Crisp, easy, hopped golden style, nothing particularly interesting with light pineapple evident.

Keg @ Castle Hotel, Manchester. Golden with a creamy head. Steady pale, hoppy mainly but very palatable without feeling low in strength.

Keg @ Castle Hotel, Manchester. Mildly hazed slightly lighter golden brew with a light carbonation and a head. Pale ale with a small and very manageable bitterness as its character.

Bottle from Foodery: pours copper with white head. Aroma is floral, biscuit, earth. Taste is malty, lightly bitter. Not bad flavor.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol October 2023. Dark brown in colour, with a slight, beige, head. Leafy hops, some chocolate and toasty malts, with some coffee character in the finish. Good.

500ml bottle from a local B&M Bargains: BBE October 2024. Drank at home on 14th January 2024. Poured into a vase shaped pint glass, weak white head, clean and clear golden amber body. Not much of a Christmas cracker to be honest, no sign of spice or Christmassy flavours, just a bog standard blend with very little going on. Some semi-sweet malt action and a mini fruitiness. Robinsons seem to be going 'down hill' these days!

RERATE - Cask at Old Dolphin, Derby. Pours golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. Malts are prominent in the aroma, plus traces of nuts. In the mouth it is slightly sweet with malts mixing with traditional hops and hints of ginger. Later on some autumn fruits and hints of spice too leading to a dry and slightly sharp finish. This is reasonable – not the most exciting beer ever, but certainly better than the previous time I tried it. oRIGINAL RATING - Cask at Bakers Vaults, Stockport. Pours “bitter brown” with a small foamy almost white head. There’s malts in the aroma alongside some hints of nuts. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy but with not much taste at all. There’s a few malts, hints of traditional hops and later on a little autumn fruits. Finish is slightly bitter. This was bland and instantly forgettable – I struggled to finish it. [ I have drunk this beer before, and don;t remember such problems, so maybe it requires a rerate ? ]

Bottle from B&M Bargains, Rochdale. Clear golden-amber with a thin head. Caramel malts define its taste with a density about its texture down the palate.

Keg pint @ Bridge End, Llangollen mid-way through a Boxing Day canal ride with Soph from Chirk (and back to Chirk). Pours a generally clear golden amber, good white cushion atop. Aroma of toffee, golden malt. Continues to taste, indeed white a smooth, almost creamy palate, pleasant caramelised malt character, soft bitterness. No complaints.
