Draft sample @ winery. Sweet apple and light cinnamon candy aroma. Clear pale yellow, no head per usual for cider. Cinnamon candy flavor which overpowers the light apple flavor. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Bottle from winery. Fresh apple and musty ginger aroma. Slightly hazed pale yellow. Earthy/musty ginger and dry green apple flavor. Light body. Ginger flavor was disappointingly not snappy, with none of the expected zing. This is the first McClure’s I’ve tried that didn’t live up to expectations.

Bottle from winery. Ripe apple, oak, light bourbon, vanilla aroma. Cloudy straw gold, no head per usual for cider. Tart apple with just a hint of sweetness, oak, and vanilla flavor. Body on the light side of medium, lively carbonation, crisp dry finish. Another great cider from McClure’s. Kudos to Jason.

Bottle from winery. Blackberry, apple, honey and spicy floral aroma - very rich and complex - I wanted to sniff at it as much as I wanted to drink it. Deep rich plum/blackberry color. Flavor was exactly what the nose promised - sweet ripe blackberry, honey, and a lovely spicy floral flavor. Full rich body, very soft carbonation, and slightly dry finish. McClure’s calls this a cider, but it seems much more like a mead. Either way, it was wonderful .. rich, complex, difficult to stop drinking.. which at 12% was dangerous!

Bottle. Fresh ripe sweet apple aroma, like walking into an apple booth at a farmer’s market. Hazy deep cold with a small fizzy, quickly dissipating white head. Fresh tart apple flavor, very slight sweetness. Light crisp body, lively carbonation, dry finish. Jason’s got a real knack for these nice dry English style ciders.
