Golden colour with thin head. Aroma is sharp but has some grapefruit and pineapple. Sharp flavour too. Interesting mix of tropical fruit and sour.

No head; clear & bright orange-golden beer. Bit sweetish nose, honeyish, blossomy, straw. Sourish, lactic, fruity flavours, non-specific. Light body, rather undercarbonated; long sourish aftertaste with lipsmacking acidity. Light but rather nice!

Sampled at zythos 2018. Thnx for sharing, everyone! Pours muddy amberblonde. Yeast haze Is not the defining facrit of a NEIPA... Goddamn... Smell is yeasty ( sigh...) taste is soft. Bitter. Powdery. Less bad than it seemed like it was gonna be. But still. This is yet another prove most brewers don't have a clue what a NEIPA is.

One of the new fruit beers by Broers, at Goeste in Ghent, from a 75 cl bottle. Vanilla-flavoured blackberry beer, apparently, sounds interesting. Immediately opening, loose, off-white to pale beige-ish, moussy ring of thin foam over a hazy mahogany-hued dark bronze beer. Aroma of a lot of blackberry jam and ripe blackberry juice, caramel, soggy bread, stewed plums, apple sauce, pear, touch of hazelnuts and some vague DMS (overcooked green cabbage – alas) but hardly any outspoken vanilla. Lively fruity onset due to a generous dose of actual blackberry with estery notes of pear and peach at its edges, sweet ripe blackberry juice with a sourish note, medium carbonated. Slick, bready malt backbone with caramel malt sweet core, accentuating the blackberry sweetness rather than its sourness; ends earthy, with a late, deeply buried hop bitterish accent, some retronasal DMS and bready yeastiness all still soaked in the blackberry juice, but as in the nose, the vanilla remains very, very subtle and hard to pick out. Too bad, I would have loved this aspect to be more pronounced – and the DMS less so… Good idea, in all, but could have a bit been better executed.

Raspberry beer by this brewery in Wachtebeke, thanks Goedele for sharing at Goeste in Ghent. Tasted as “Frambier” but I assume that’s just another, new name for Cuvée Framboise. Snow white, loosely structured, thin head quickly reduced to a few small bubbles around the edge but nothing else, hazy deep fuchsia-ruby robe. Aroma of red raspberries indeed, lemon juice, watermelon, sourdough, tomato juice, vague hint of H2S (sewer water). Crisp, fruit-acidic onset with a thin fructose sweetness below, clear red raspberry flavour with side notes of rhubarb and lemon, supple body, softish carbonation, thin bready malt core. Fruit sourness, in a refreshing but not overly puckering way, stretches all over the palate and dries the finish in a juicy, refreshing way, while some background soapiness lingers; hop bitterness is all but absent. Simple, straightforward but ‘honest’ fruit beer, certainly not bad – if it weren’t for that sulfuric, rotten egg-like accent in the nose…
