12oz bottle. These days expectations for IPAs are pretty intense. Slightly hazy orange-tan body. Foamy off-white head. Lemony, zesty pink grapefruit, grassy tangerine aroma. Golden clean malt body, not too weighed down by thick caramel or crystal malts. Has a touch of that nice fresh garlic thing going on. I can see how this would be quite nice fresh on tap...its pretty nice in the can too! A well done, modern IPA. I’d go back for more of this.

Can: Orange-amber with a thick, apricot-tinted head. Fruity, floral hop scent. Malty, creamy, citrus and pine/floral hops. Excellent taste...fruity and sweet..... Leans towards APA territory.

My first Madtree beer, picked up a Dutchs. Unfiltered. thick red-brown, turbid, with some a questionable amount of white floaty specks. Nonetheless, this is a really great Brown Ale. Massive sweet brown sugar malt tones. Coffee. Vanilla Even some hops fighting to get piece of the spotlight. Bold and well done, yet maybe a little sloppy and in need need of refinement..get the floaties out.

Sample at The Ohio Taproom. Pours a clear brownish-amber color with a medium tan head that recedes gradually. Strings of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt, coffee and hops in the nose. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasty coffee, chocolate malt and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
