Cask, handpump The Royal Blenheim, Oxford 25-05-10 Had this in the very pleasant company of Andy and Pearl. Pours mid gold, its light in the mouth the ginger is quite subtle but there also some honey. Good clarity to this beer, some light fruitiness yep its a touch sweet, but its fine not much ginger on the nose. A5 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Very deep ruby colour thin tan head. Lots of coffee on aroma. Hell of a lot bettre than I was expecting. No powder or graininess. J juicy porter with well balanced coffee on top. Coffee is a little Maxwell House to be honest rather than espresso. It’s good. Difficult to do the style well, so a big up for trying.

(Cask at Penderel’s Oak JDW, Holborn, London, 25 Nov 2009) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of freshly ground coffee and a touch of acidity (might come from the coffee). Roasted, malty taste with freshly ground coffee and a touch of slightly tart dark fruit. Medium body, generous coffee bitterness. A bit different with lots of coffee character. Nice one.
