Description
At DESTIHL, we brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing & because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. Cheers!
DESTIHL was founded on the promise of supporting flavor and boycotting bland. We're an independent, production brewery that was established in 2013 in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois to brew beyond the confines of typical beers. Our team combines centuries-old global brewing traditions and new American craft brewing ingenuity & artisanship to produce a wide array of beers for every palate. We brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing and because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. The result is a diverse offering of intensely flavorful beers that are anything but bland, from our award-winning WiLD SOUR Series, barrel-aged Saint Dekkera® Reserve Sour Ales and Dosvidanya® Russian Imperial Stout, to our many Belgian-style beers, IPA's, other wood-aged beers, classic styles and exciting seasonals. DESTIHL has become a brand, but we have not strayed from our roots. We take pride in our values and will continue to grow and support our local community. We promise to deliver on these uncompromising beliefs. Every beer we brew is unique. So, whether you share it or hoard it, we hope you enjoy it. After all, you deserve it.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/13/2014. Pours hazy deep orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Some slight spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange zest, green apple, wheat, biscuit, light honey, coriander, sea salt, white vinegar, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Outstanding aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, spice/salt, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange zest, green apple, wheat, biscuit, light honey, coriander, sea salt, white vinegar, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of fruity/acidic tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange zest, green apple, coriander, sea salt, white vinegar, wheat, biscuit, light honey, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity and robustness of fruity/acidic yeast, spice, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/spice/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately acidic/salty mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding gose style. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, spice/salt, and bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink with the balanced acidity. A highly enjoyable offering.

The Beer Store, southampton, pa: pours light orange with some haze and a quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is lemon, coriandor, wheat. Taste is sour. It is more sweet than other goses. Salt is pretty mild at the end. Not bad.

Can. Pours cloudy amber, small off white head, dissipates quickly, a bit of lacing. Aroma is lemon, wheat, coriander, floral. Flavor is light tart, lemony wheat, just a touch if coriander, some salt on the finish. Medium light body, prickly carbonation. Nice example of the style.

12oz can. Slightly murky orange-red body. Steady off-white head. Sour strawberry, cherry, berry aroma. A pretty tasty offering, sort of amped up American sour tones, but remains pretty true to style. Big ups to DeStihl for putting this in reasonably priced 4packs instead of overpriced 750s. Cheap red wine notes, sweet tarts, big lactic sour. Solid offering.

Draught at Downtown Spirits, Seattle
Dark amber color, clean, with creamy beige head. The aroma is nutty, the body is full, it has a rich dark caramel flavor. A bit metallic though, but very clean. Very nice.
