Description
Blue Moon is known for its Belgian-Style Wheat Ale which was created in 1995 by Keith Villa, a brewer at the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field, Denver. It was originally brewed in the Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado. In the summer of 2016 a new state-of-the-art brewery was opened in Denver’s RiNo District. Since then we have been brewing fan favorites (old and new), and experimenting with new and unique ingredients on our pilot brewing system.

bottle - This beer has a light citrus and wheat aroma. The flavor is quite sweet with some citrus and honey. It’s light and thin, thoroughly uninspiring, though drinkable. I can’t help but give it a resounding "Meh". The flagship blue moon is much better.

Bottle. Orange peel wheat malt aroma - perhaps a hint of corriander. Golden yellow with moderate head and lacing. Mildly cloying honey wheat flavor - a hint of orange peel and spices. Decent body. Not too bad of an American Wheat - better than average.

Aroma is soapy lemon. Cloudy golden pour, light fluffy head. Very floral taste for a wheat beer, citrus is prominent. More distinctly lemon on the palate with wheat.

Pour is a murky yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a bit on the lemon side but the wet paper bag takes over. Flavor is super weak and watery. Its just a sweet corney mess. There’s honey in here? i think not. Who ever brewed this deserves a cock punch.

Bottle. Pours cloudy white. Nice aroma of orange peel and head. Taste is smooth and refreshing, though a bit thin. My hats off to Coors for brewing a purely drinkable beer that is supported by their massive distribution network.

Draught pint at Joshua Tree (bar near me) on 4/14/07
So my friend and I are at this bar towards the end of the night and this wicked hot chick is sitting at a table right near where we were standing. We were fairly bored and it’s always fun to talk to hot girls, so I’m like, "Marco (my friend), what should I say to this girl?" He comes up with a pretty sweet pick-up line that goes a little like this. I walk up to the girl and say, "Hey, do you know what time the bars around here close, we’re not from around here." And then she tells me the time and asks, "So where are you from?" and I respond "Cambridge". Cambridge is literally the next town over and about a 10 minute walk, so it’s a pretty funny line, in which you just insert a town right next to where you are. Anyways, it had the girl laughing for about a minute straight and we all hung out the rest of the night at the bar and had a good time.
The beer is not so good. Copper-colored with strong, strong coriander and cheap sugars in the nose. The flavor isn’t much different, with sort of a thick, spongey texture that grows sweeter and almost chewier on the finish. Tons of coriander, with astringency and lime acidity. Not crisp in any way, not refreshing due to the sweetness.

Had this again yesterday, for the purposes of rating it. It is a standard white ale. Like the other beers it has that cloudy look to it. The flavour is citrusy of course, with little hops. I mean, it is surprising to see that Coors makes this and actually sells it, but I guess every brewery (except for Miller probably) has to make a beer that doesn’t totally suck.

Bottle: Pours a clear golden color with a large, creamy white head. Nose of yeast, wheat, and some spiciness. A bit earthy. Taste is dry, bisquit malt with some hints of spice, yeast, and lime. Very crisp and carbonated.

This brew is a clear orange/amber color with a medium done white head that dissipates slowly. Spotty rings of lacing on the glass. Bready malt aroma with a touch of lime. Light-bodied with a mildly spicy character and flavors of yeast and lime. The finish is lightly herbal with a sweet malt aftertaste. Pretty average all around.
