Bottle (I think) at Churchkey for the Craft Brewers Conference. Poured a dark ruby color with a off-white head. Aroma was some serious nice sour, tart notes - fruits. Flavor was nice barrel, red wine notes. Plenty of lactic notes. This was great - highly drinkable and highly enjoyable. I’ll be on the lookout for this one again. Really liked this one.

Tulip 30 cl. draft at the Crooked Stave Barrel Cellar in Denver, Colorado. The pour is clear brown ruby with a white head. The aroma is initially acidic, though that clear pretty quick revealing red grape wine, additional tart cherry, and some additional general funkiness. The taste is approachable sour acidic fruit, balanced with general red grape, and then shows some lightly sweet maltiness that wasn’t present in the nose. The palate is light to medium bodied, prickly carbonation, and a acidic sour dry finish. The carbonation and sour make this really easy to drink. Nicely done beer.

Tap at the barrel cellar - turbid gold, some floaties, frothy head - tons of passionfruit in the nose - the whole fruit, skins and all, so equal parts sweet, bitter and earthy - some light funkiness, moderate oak - soft mouthfeel - fairly sour in comparison to the base beer - mostly lactic - oak is a bit strong, making for a woody, overly bitter finish - passionfruit is mellow in the flavor, but adds a much needed sweetness to the middle - some good stuff happening, but a few things are out of balance.
