Drunk at home after starting to install a high end wood bandsaw, which is much more complicated than I'd expected. Very dark black with a short lived dark brown head. Nose is super coffee roasted, lightly sweet smelling. Creamy mouthfeel, yep lactose as i thought, that's a lot of dessert flavors in this pastry stout! Let's be clear there's not much in common with a standard Bock 😉 tasty though and not overly sweet. Pretty interesting.

Würziger, süß malziger Beginn. Viel Kaffee, weiche Herbe, Kakao, Kaffee. Die Süße bleibt angenehm, hohe Süffigkeit, langer Nachhall. Gelungen. 10/12/12/11/9/12

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately to mostly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Mildly spicy and slightly vinous, fruity aroma, slightly chocolately, dark malty background, notes of clove, hints of blue grapes, whiffs of orange peel. Taste is mildly bitter and almost a tad soapy spicy, minimally fruity and minimally chocolately, dark malty without residual sweetness, diluted hints of clove and blue grapes, a bitter touch of orange zest.
Watery texture, dry, minimally astringent palate, medium, prickly carbonation.
Nice and fairly harmonious composition concerning nose, rather heterogeneous and disharmonious concerning taste, minimally soapy and overcarbonated as well - not fully convincing.

Bottle, shared after a day of exploring, hiking and snow. Dark. Pastry stout nose, raisins toffife vanilla tonka dates, milk chocolate, ice chocolate, coffee. Warm, strong, sweet boozy vanilla ice-cream shake. Not sticky.

Bottle. Black, dark brown unstable head. Chocolate, coffee and Ovomaltine aroma, medium full sparkly body. Coffee on the palate, citrus, grassy bitterness, Krokant/Ladyfingers, a bit booze. Good balance, intense, but quite drinkable. Probably my favourite Astra so far.

A hazy dark golden beer with a white head. Aroma of of green vegetables, yeast, pale malt. Taste of green vegetables, Kohl, herbal bitter finish.

0,33 l bottle no. 1816/2147. BB 01.05.26. Murky flat orange golden in the glass, nearly like a smoothie, small white head. Didn´t look good tbh. Sweet kale aroma with some hop. Taste is herbal, some kale, pale grainy, sweetness. Medical with increasing bitterness to the end. No, not my kind of stuff, although I am born, raised and still living in the real (!) Grünkohlland. I know Hamburgians put sugar in the Grünkohl and eat it with fried potatoes. Awful!
