Creamy tan head stayed on a dark brown still body. Heavy malt & chocolate aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth, creamy & lighter on the back with clean aft. Sweet stewed fruit, jam, nutty, light coffee, liquorice & chocolate tastes with a big boozy red wine finish. Excellent!

330ml bottle from Waitrose Pontypridd. Drunk watching a programme about cats on BBC4. Dark appearance, thin tan ring circling the glass. Nice comforting aroma with milk chocolate, vanilla, almond. Oily palate, medium bodied with welcome vinous shades accompanying the molasses and subtle liquorice. A harmonious blend overall, really satisfying.

330ml bottle from Vinmonoplet Langnes. Big white, rocky head, next-to-clear golden-brown body. Rich lacing. Quite inviting smell of smoked malts and bread. Smoked malt-fruity flavours, grain and dusty hops. Mid-dry ending slightly smoked, notes of yeasty esters. Satisfying. (Tromsø 07.04.2020).

Botte. Slightly unclear golden body with a dense, stable, white head. Aroma has some malt and rather much smoke that gives the typical association to cured meat, campfire etc. Taste is quite straight forward sweet pale malt, hint of caramel and distinct smoke, not able to identify the hops that’s described as ‘stacks of’. Medium body and same aftertaste as the rest. Kinda decent smoked beer, but not the most complex version I had.

Cask at Hop & Anchor. It pours clear golden amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is punchy, resinous, oily hops, green pine, nutty, spicy and floral.. The taste is dry, bitter, resinous, nutty, piney, peppery spice, floral, oithy citrus, grapefruit rind and some light hop astringency. Finish is drying and bitter. Lighter end of medium body, soft carbonation and oily mouth feel. A fair amount to it and rather bitter. Decent.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 18.11.19. Clear dark golden. White head. Aroma and taste of smoked bacon, Islay Whisky, circuit boards and knickers of sweaty stable boys that has been roasted on a half-extinguished scout fire without access to oxygen. Also some marmalade. An un-equired taste.
