(Cask at Carnarvon Castle, Liverpool, 26 July) Colour is amber with frothy head. Nose is malty and nutty with a neutral caramel aroma. Taste is malty and nutty with dried fruit and some artificial tasting caramel. A bit sweet and hints of hops in the finish (did they only dry hop the beer?). Not bad, probably better than when it was under the wings of Scotish Courage, but still a fairly boring brew.
