14/II/15 - 75cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ RBBWG IV (Beerlover_Ben's place) - BB: n/a (2015-205) Thanks to Beerlover_Ben for picking this one up for me!

Little cloudy red brown beer, small aery beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots and lots of banana, very yeasty, sweet, bit sugary. MF: ok carbon, medium to thin body. Taste: very yeasty, bit sugary, banana, alcohol, watery. Aftertaste: lots of yeast, banana, alcohol, soft bitterness. Nope. Also: at €20 per bottle, ridiculously expensive!

Bottle @ RBBWG 2015 shared by tderoeck. Opaque reddish color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts sweetish, sugary, slightly liquor, a hint of iron. Average body and carbonation. Meh.

Commissioned by the Oostendse Bierjutters and originally made at Strubbe, which this rating is about. Off-white, thin, lacing, moussy head and warm golden blonde colour, initially clear but hazy with deposit. Aroma of pale malts, clear iron, wet cloth, grassy hops, straw, coriander, grapefruit, ureum and some ’wet dog’. Fruity, mildly sweet and mineral-like onset with fairly strong carbonation, metallic ’zing’, some spicy notes probably due to coriander, some caramel in the background, medium long hoppy, bitterish finish. Not too attractive in aroma and a bit bland in the mouth, I would not recommend this too much.

Gushing to huge, dense & fine amberish-tinted head over veiled old-gold coloured beer with a lively, fine pearling. Quite spicy nose (no idea what), some toasted malts aromas. Bit fruity esters, as heavily diluted pineapple juice. Again some toasted malts, spicing seems more a suggestion here. Sweet-sour(ish) finish, reinforcing the pineapple impression. Overcarbonated, fizzy, light body, even watery. Oh dear. What was the idea here?

Clear orange golden colour, white head. Light sour citrus aroma, malty, light hops. Touch stale. Sweet malty flavour, quite fruity, light bitter. Light body. Light sweet malty finish, light bitter citrus.
Nothing special, but better than expected.
