Description

Bottle: Poured a brown amber color with a thin tan head. Aroma was liquorish and sweet malt. The flavor was very similiar as it was sweet and candy malt.

Dark, opaque brown. This beer was a gusher and exploded out of the bottle. Good aroma, but not a lot of it. A little sweet, some malt there as well. Alcohol is well hidden. Flavor has sweet malt, a little salty, roast beef, salt, and some orange. Good, but really expensive.

Bottled 20 Dec 2005 - just about a year old. Pours a clear dark mahogany into a snifter. Medium tan head recedes to a 1/2 inch and stays there. Soapy fig aromas. Fizzy. Front to back caramel and pit fruit. Dry, lasting slightly bittersweet finish. Alcohol is very well hidden. Belgian Strong Dark Ale?

Pours bright gold into a tulip. Bright white soapy foam leaves thick lacing and mounds as it slowly recedes. Lemon and spice aromas. Sharp with upfront hops and a lasting sour apple finish.
