A clear dark brown ale with a quickly dissipating big bubbled, lifeless, light beige head. Aroma of Nestle quick and mashed peas. In mouth, a rater watery roasted malt with little body, some lactic points. Bought as L’Obscure. Shows 6%...doesnt feel like that in mouth! Tasted Oct. 26 2008.

A deep dark mahoganny brown ale with a thick moka head. A nice molasse aroma with plums and hops, treacle, burned sugars, not buttery or cloying. In mouth, a good sweet brown sugar malt, amber maple syrup, woody, with loads of nutty and light alcohol. Rich and woody. Bought at Jovi, Gatineau for 3.99$. No label, just a sticker....thanks Pascal!

Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of caramel malt with light smoky notes. Taste is also a nice enough mix between some caramel malt with some medium smoke notes. Probably not as much smoke as some the German smoked beers out there but I am not sure that was the point anyway. Well balance and easily drinkable.

Bottle: Poured a yellow color ale with some white hue and a nice foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of coriander and orange peel with some light raspberry notes. Taste is also a mix between a spicy Belgian wit with a light raspberry finish. It tends to veer more toward a Belgian Wit then a fruit beer with raspberry playing a minor role overall. Not bad overall and definitely a notch better then other offering from this so-so brewery.

Bottle: Poured a light brown color ale with a medium foamy head with limited retention and consequently no lacing. Aroma of very light citrus hops is a big letdown. Taste is a mix between a weird grainy malt profiles with some very light citrus hops. I am not the most enthusiastic hophead out there but I would expect at least some bitterness notes in an IPA which I am not getting here. Average body with low carbonation.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow color Kolsch with a great pure white foamy head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma of light European hops with some unrefined grain notes. Taste is also dominated by this unrefined grain taste with some light floral hops. Average body with good carbonation. Overall, I wouldn’t say that this was overly complex but well made nonetheless and very refreshing.

Bottle bought at Rahman, 2.49$. A hazy golden ale with a thick creamy off white head. In aroma, a nice floral hoppy ale with fruity notes, sweet caramel, mango, and tea. In mouth, a sweet I2PA with good sustained floral hops, caramel, notes of cinnamon and pepper. A very interesting and fun offering from Pascal!

Bouteille 750ml.

A golden orange ale with a thin lacing white head. Pleasant floral hops aroma with caramel and light vinous notes. A sweet raisiny ale with loads of floral hops, light grapefruit, residual candy sugar, close to a I2PA, not a barley wine. Good beer thought. On tap at Vices et Versa, 6 Feb. 2008.
