Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - opaque black with very low carbonation. Extremely thin fawn head. Nose - rich creamy yet dark chocolate. Light wood and booze. Taste - very rich chocolate again. Intensely creamy again. Booze again. Light smoke and maybe Bovril. Palate - rich and smooth full bodied. Rich and creamy lingering finish. Overall - particularly sweet bit I suspect that’s the idea.

Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - close to opaque black with a thin head. Very cola like. Nose - molasses and candy sugar. Booze. Taste - tobacco, tar and savoury liquorice. Palate - rich and full bodied. Dry and tangy middle section. Sweet but tangy finish. Overall - it’s rich and full flavoured hut isn’t particularly drinkable.

Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - grapes but then the toffee kicks in and there’s a smoky charcoal note that follows it in. Taste - light apple or grape before getting into toffee again and again smoke, tar and charcoal notes. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a dry stout but with fruitiness

Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - very pale yellow. Big fizzy head and generally very lively. Nose - stewed apple and a little citrus. Taste - more of the same and very fizzy. Palate - light bodied with a creamy fizzy middle section that continues through the finish. Very refreshing. Overall - not serious, a fun beer.

Bottle from @Rheged. Appearance - hazy orange. Thin head. Nose - light orange and spice. Taste - more of the same really. Big ginger note builds through the bottle. Palate - light bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - fairly authentic example of the style apart from ginger note.

Black beer, thick beige head. Aroma of light malt. Flavour is tangy fruit up front but this soon mellows out and you’re left with a fairly standard bitter, malty stout. A touch of bitter cocoa and some of the fruit lingers too, quite tangy. Not bad.
