Straw blond colour with light haze and thin head. Aroma and flavour have a touch of grape and tropical fruit. Light bitterness. Very sessionable.

Golden colour with thin head. Aroma has lots of floral hop notes and light tropical fruit. Flavour is similar but slightly less intense. Moderately bitter finish. Good stuff.

Cask at the garden city brewpub. A clear pale golden coloured pour with a fading loose white head. Aroma is little grassy hop, hint of toffee and diacetyl, orange rind. Flavour is composed of semi sweet Base malts, lemon and orange rind, little grassy loose citrus hop, cif lemon. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, little flabby. Meh.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a nice off white lacy head. Nose - chocolate for sure. Orange very faint. Smoke and roast. Taste - very dark chocolate. Orange liqueur. Still some roast going on. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - what I like about Hardknott is that they us a broad range of malts.

330ml bottle from the Brewery Online Shop. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of chocolate and orange, as expected. Light toast. Taste is more chocolate heavy, orange is fainter. Nice clean finish.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque brown to black with a nice lacy head. Nose - salt and molasses. General burnt bread notes. Taste - liquorice, salt and more burnt bread. Palate - medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - good beer. A bit gnarly but the rewards for taking on the challenge are great.

330ml bottle from the Hardknott online shop. Shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of burnt toast, molasses, light salt. Taste is light chocolate sweet, more caramel and light salt. Salted liquorice. Nice. Clean finish.

ngkvarn, Uppsala. Cloudy golden, rich firm head. Lemony dusty pine up front. Mid dry with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Piney lemon. Resiny bitter finish. Not great.

ngkvarn, Uppsala. Clear copper colour, rich head. Caramelly lingonberry aroma. Mid sweet with medium-full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly with mild dusty citrus and lingonberry tartness. Mid bitter finish.
