Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - quite a big lively, fluffy head. Golden underneath. Nose - grapefruit zest mainly. Light herb, pine thing. Taste - loads of grapefruit zest again. Something green and stalky. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - decent.

330ml bottle online from the brewery, Pours opaque very dark brown with a cream coloured head. Aroma: caramel, molasses, candy sugar, alcohol. Taste: moderate sweet, heavy malty, caramel, liquorice, light spices, all dominated by big boozy notes. Medium to heavy body, soft carb, semi dry close. Not sure why I hung on to this for so long, it's not very drinkable, much too boozy

Bottle 384 of 540, online from the brewery. Pours black with a dark brown hue, only a smidge of a beige head. Aroma: burnt roasted malts, dark chocolate, whisky barrel, light smoke. Taste: moderate sweet, dry, light acidic, vinous, chocolate, light peat, whisky wood, hint of dark berries. Surprisingly thin bodied for a 7.8% stout, virtually no carb, light dry sweet & smoky finish. Holding up well for it's age. Interesting for sure.

L'olfatto viene sollecitato in maniera elevata, permanendo in maniera apprezzabile.
