I've tried this beer several times and believe I finally received a glass worth rating. It's tough to find a good Newcastle. That said, this was on tap. Slightly nutty aroma, typical cask-conditioned carbonation (not my favorite). Flavor was light and malty. I can see how this could start journeys into better beers, but otherwise Newcastle is nothing special.

I just don't like this beer. It tastes thinner than I'd like and the overall flavor just isn't for me.

The aroma is malty sweet. The color is nutbrown and it has a fine bubbly head though very fast disappearing. The flavor is sweet, malty, and very light. It has no character and is therefore a very average beer.

Bleh. Almost golden-colored, clear, thin body. Aroma is lightly sweet, and the flavor is sweet, a little bit sharp, with bittering notes. Way too thin, though. Pretty boring beer.

Draft, served in Chicago. I figure the geography should be mentioned as this is likely quite different from what’s served in its homeland. Anyway, I got a rather nicely pulled draught at Pizzeria Uno, though it was served a little too cold. Nice "beery" smell compliments the warm, slightly roasty malt taste. Hops are slight and match well with rest of the beer. A fruity ale taste, almost like a Pete’s Wicked, shows up at the finish. A pretty good one to have.

Blonde golden in colour with a white head. The aroma is pretty malty but otherwise somewhat mild. The taste was somewhat mild and not too hoppy. A decent beer, but not too great for the style. I had this beer on tap at the Ramada Inn (BWI Location).

I've had this many times before, but I just figured i'd write up a review for this beer. A good overall beer, very thin body with a slightly watery taste, but nothing in comparision to the watery crappy beers of Saranac. A good one to try that you can find at almost every supermarket or specialty store. If you have already had the other good ones you can find just about anywhere (boddington's, bass, guinness) try this one.

Yes, smooth… dark amber color. Some sweetness, but very poor, and not enough bitter.

Amber color. Thick creamy head. Light but pleasant hop aroma. Unfortunately the mouthfeel is too watery, without enough malt nor hop. The final is correct, but not enough aromatic.

Light brown with a slightly tan head that disappears quickly. Doesn’t smell very good. A little sweet. 4/3/5/3/11 rerate: A long overdue rerate. I was too hard on this beer, years ago. It is a fine brown ale. Light malt and English yeast. Some caramel. OK palate, making it very drinkable. Really a gateway beer.

(Cask). A beer in the Northeastern English style, I believe. Dark brown, low head, good lacing. Malty aroma. Rather sweet, smooth, low bitterness.
