[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A glossy peaty brown coloured pour with a tight beige head; aroma of well roasted chocolate malts; dry in the mouth with a rich toasted malt taste and a strong English hop bitterness adding a little spice to the long finish. A satisfying stout.

Can from lowcostbeer.com, consumed 2 months in date. Cloudy gold with thin white top. Kiwi and cucumber come through subtly on the nose with a distinctive saison floral fruitiness, a touch grainy. Cucumber is dominate in the taste, quite cooling, with semi-tart kiwi coming through more strongly in the finish. Nice level of sweetness. There is a light dry fruitiness from the saison base. Enjoyable.

Can from lowcostbeer.com, consumed 2 months prior to BBE. Pours a semi-hazy yellow-gold with small white head. Aroma of citrus, banana, wheat, some spice; a nice fragrant sweetness to it. Taste of a toasted wheat, citrus, bitter herbal and spicy notes but with a nice level of sweetness to balance. A top Hefeweizen, great stuff.

Can from Flavourly. Pours a cloudy gold, thin white head, minor retention. Not much on the nose, a little biscuity, pear, floral resin. Not much flavour to be honest either, some light biscuit malt, some floral and bitter hop. Decent body for a 3.8% and it does have a pleasant session feel to it on repeated sips. A bit dull though.
