Dark mahogony beer with a dark cream/tan colored head. Caramel and dried fruit aroma with some alcohol. Rich malt and caramel flavor with dried fruit and some toffee. Medium-plus bodied. Dried fruit and caramel/toffee linger with a bit of red fruit. Would be great in a brandy barrel.

Draft. This beer is the color of the track tops of the former Soviet Union under a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of malt and spices. The flavor is sweet malty with some spices to it.

Aroma: The nose is sweet and malty, some grape notes, as well as wood, earth, and booze
Appearance: It pours a brownish color with a slight reddish-purple hue, and almost no head
Flavor: The taste is mostly sweet, lots of grape, dark fruits, and a little earthy hop
Palate: The body is medium, well-rounded, slightly sticky, clean enough, minimal alcohol burn
Overall Impression: I thought this stuff was pretty decent. It is mostly a sweet fruit beer, but it tastes pretty good. I wouldn't rush out for this one or anything, but it was worth trying. Decent stuff that deserves it's L'Chaim! -> To Life!

Pours deep mahogany/black into a trappist glass. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing to coat surface. Dark caramel, vanilla and pit fruit aromas. Full and sweet with licorice, dark fruit, caramel, chocolate and vanilla and a lasting spiked mocha finish.

Pours deep, deep mahogany into a trappist glass. Head quickly dissipates to hug rim. Dark date and fig aromas. Light and sweet with figs and dates upfront turning hot and chocolatey in the lasting burn finish. Nice.

Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Mocha head recedes to hug rim. Toffee, raisin, prune and treacle aromas. Full with upfront prune and toffee turning to a dry, lasting soy and vanilla alcohol burn.

Batch 1 bomber from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear orange tinted amber color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, toffee, citrus hops, some toasted wood notes. The taste is bitter citrus hops with some earthy notes, caramel, ryem toastiness from the wood and a boozy whisky bite in the finish. Medium-full bodied. Hot, but quite nice.

Pours very deep, ruby tinged black into a Sam glass. Pancake head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing as it recedes to coat surface. Chocolate covered pit fruit and roasted nut aromas. Sweet full pit fruit, mixed nuts and dark caramel upfront turning to chocolate and pine in the lasting finish.

Draft. Poured a dark brown color, very small head. Aroma was roasted malts, touch of chocolate, notes of alcohol. Flavor was pretty roasted, notes of malts, chocolate, touch of bitterness. Warmed quite well and has aged incredibly well on top of that.
