Description
The process of brewing beer hasn’t changed much since we started back in 1777. And neither has our unique approach to crafting characterful beer. But our equipment most certainly has.

Our state-of-the-art, independent, family-owned brewery now stands proudly alongside our old brewery on the banks of the River Stour in Blandford, Dorset. Using the finest ingredients and over 240 years of expertise, our brewers create beer that brims with flavour.

Cask at GBBF 2005. Dark copper colour, typical Badger yeast nose. OK fruit but thin finish. In fact this seemed a little stale and dull so may not have been in the best of condition for a tasting

A hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet with slight notes of metal, while the flavor is weird with notes of caramel and metal, leading to a dry hoppy end.

Cask at New Inn, Canterbury Reddish copper colour, hop and yeasty nose with acidic yeasty flavour with some toffee malt and very floral hop finish. Can never decide if I like this beer or not. Sometimes it slides down nice, sometimes I can’t stand it.

Bottle. Green apple aroma. Cloudy, muddy, light brown colour. Fruity flavour, good body, creamy mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Sweetish aftertaste with some aromatic hoppiness.

(Bottle 50 cl) Originally brewed by the pub-brewery "Gribble Inn" owned by "Hall & Woodhouse". But the bottled version comes from the Badger Brewery - with the same owners. Nice amber colour, a slight haze and a rather stable head. Some nutty- and caramel notes. Reminds me a bit of Newcastle Brown Ale (no offence). 100904

From tap at Jan Primus. Nice clear copper color, short off-white head. Aroma of golding hops and sweet caramel malts, some fruity notes. Taste is caramel malty with a very pleasant bitterness, quite fruity also. Lingering palate.

Bottle. Sugar/candy aroma with some ginger. Colour is slightly darker than golden. White head, quickly gone. Very sweet flavour which goes into a tiny slight burning sensation with some ginger flavour and ends again with some sweetness. I like ginger in beer, but this one is too sweet and not very balanced.

As described, it has a nice elderflower aroma along with the typical hops. Average appearance. Flavor is surprising - not as sweet as the aroma would lead you to believe - bitter hops flavor with only a slight elderflower taste. Probably too sweet for beer lovers and too bitter for non-beer drinkers but I enjoyed it.
