Description
The process of brewing beer hasn’t changed much since we started back in 1777. And neither has our unique approach to crafting characterful beer. But our equipment most certainly has.

Our state-of-the-art, independent, family-owned brewery now stands proudly alongside our old brewery on the banks of the River Stour in Blandford, Dorset. Using the finest ingredients and over 240 years of expertise, our brewers create beer that brims with flavour.

On tap. Creamy off-white head on top of a clear, golden ale. Weak malty aroma with some hoppy fruityness. The flavor is the same. Thin body and a pineapple-fruity, lightly hopped finish. A quite pleasant and balanced beer, but a bit boring. (060712)

Cask. Clear, golden, with a small white rim. Weak malty aroma with some hops. The flavor is malty too, with a gentle hoppiness. Quite thin body and a lightly fruity finish with some sweetness. (060712)

Bottled. Pours golden, with an off-white, nitro-like head. Ginger dominates the aroma, there is just some malt and hop in the background. A bit more malty flavor, but a lot of ginger here too. Medium body. A bit too focused on ginger IMO, but could maybe go well with south-east Asian cousine? (060711)

Bottle, Kidlington, Sainsbury’s. Pours amber colour with a small white frothy head. The aroma is rather sweet and a bit spicey, as is the first sip but there is far too much ginger in here, I’m sure it never used to be so heavily spiced? I didn’t really enjoy this and yet I was sure that in the past this used to be so much better a refreshing beer and with a much better balance.

Bottle picked up from the brewery 19-06-06. Just as I was expecting golden colour, refreshing, the usual nice florally aroma that you get from many Badger beers, but all in all safe and unexciting.

Bottle picked up at the Hall and Woodhouse brewery 19-06-06. I quite enjoyed this beer which poured a warm golden colour, but I found it a little safe, bit too sweet and unexciting.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Gold colour with thin white head. Over carbonated. Flowery/floral citric hop aroma. Pear drop. Bit lagery and wet in mouth. Boy, I have a problem with Badger’s bottled beer. They could be good, but somehow aren’t, but there’s enough about them to keep you interested. Overall a dullish beer.
