Bottle. I’ve seen this guy (not the badger) on TV some times, but didn’t know he made a beer together with Badger until I found it at the brewery. I think it’s a quite nice beer, even though there’s nothing special to it, it’s just a refreshing, pleasant, quaffable beer. It pours a bit unclear, golden-colored, with a white head. It’s quite malty on the nose, nicely balance with fruity hops. The flavor is a bit on the grainy side, but it too has a nice balance between malt and bitterness. Medium body. Nice, lightly hopped finish. (070608)

Cask handpull at Ship & Shovel, Charing Cross. Pumpclip had Badger Stinger on it. Very pleasant slightly sharp bitter. Very drinkable and in good condition and the first time in this pub since the smoking ban. Couldn’t believe the difference it made. I could actually taste my beer properly. The extra nettle gives the citrus hop a real zing on the finish.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Gold with an off-white head; sweet, fruity and chewy, with a clean, dry and moderately bitter finish. A pleasant, well-constructed session bitter.

Bottle. Orangey amber colour with a slight off-white head. Aroma of tired hops and barley sugar. Flavour was of caramel with a dry finish. Drinkable but not much enjoyment was had.

500ml bottle from Tesco. Pale gold with a trace of white head, moderate carbonation; fragrant, floral aroma; sweet fruity flavours - apricot, peach and apple; refreshing sharp finish clears away the sweetness, leaving a gentle bitterness. A good summer beer.

Golden coloured with a lacy white head. Aroma was of fruits like peaches, apricots and melon. The flavour was of peach and not much else, although this wasn’t overpowering like the ginger in Blandford Fly. Alright as a summer drink.

(Cask at Prince Edward, Bayswater, London 28 Apr) Copper colour with brief off-white head. Fruity nose with apricots, orange, marmalade and earthy hops. Fruity taste with a solid malt base, notes of bitter orange marmalade and dried apricots. Rather sweet, but with a nice puff of earthy hops in the finish.
