A brown beer with a small brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate combined with hints of roasted malt. The flavor is very light with notes of chocolate, and the mouthfeel is very carbonated and the body thin.

Bottle courtesy Dan (jah noth). Deep brown body, medium buff-colored head. Roasty, coffee aroma. Rich. Strong coffee body with bitter roasts, the beans leading to some astringency, becoming puckeringly bitter. The coffee is overwhelming, and the body is not thick enough to control the beany bitterness. Drinkable but needs more balance.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a huge foamy head with great retention. Coffee dominate the aroma but I guess that was to be expected. Taste is mix between lots of coffee, some roasted malt and not much hops. Body is a bit thin for the style. Enjoyable but would have been truly outstanding had there been more malt and a fuller body.

Cool little bottle courtesy Dan (jah noth). Slightly hazy amber body with aggressive carbonation and a medium-thick buff head. Bready aroma with resiny (pine) and grassy hops. Nicely hopped body, with earthy, bitter, piney hops (including just a touch of grapefruit skin) melding with the toasty, light malts in the backdrop. Quite an herbal potpourri of classic APA flavors. The zesty carbonation leaves a nice "zip" on the palate. Very fresh-tasting and well-done.

RBSG Average white head that sits on top of a dark amber body. Bready light malt aroma with some honey notes. Lightly sweet flavor and the slightly acid hoppy bitterness finishes dry.

Bottle: Poured a copper color ale with a huge off-white foamy head with pretty good retention. Aroma of floral hops mix with some bitter hops. Taste is dominated by bitter hops with some floral aspect also present. Wow, I’m glad there are more and more Canadian breweries that are brewing heavier hops beers then in the past.

Nice amber ale with a thick off white head. Light hops in aroma. Extremely fresh malts and hops in mouth, with light citrus notes. Good bodied and well balanced. Excellent. March 5th 2005. Bottle.7-3-8-4-15
As Tankenstein, dry-hopped, hazed amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, smooth British hops, light wood extract, caramel and malt. In mouth, a nice crisp malt woth British herbal hops, a bit thin but nice, very British. Cask, dry hopped, at Ottawa cask fest., June 26 2011. 8-3-7-3-13

Mill Street Bock Bottle: Poured a clear dark yellow beer with nice foamy head with average retention. Aroma consists mainly of strong malt with some floral notes also noticeable. Taste is quite creamy (with some banana) with some nice strong malt and some bitterness at the end. Overall, this is very enjoyable but not the greatest example of the style.

Bottle 554, courtesy Doug Shoemaker - cheers!
Light golden-amber colour. Small amount of yeast in suspension. Very low carbo - looks dead. Aroma is appley (not acedaldehyde), honeyish and lightly spicy (nutmeg). Strong alcohol presence up front makes the beer quite peppery and dry. This sits overtop of honey-sweet pale malts like a sumo wrestler on a midget. Slightly thick body. I’ve only had a couple of pale barley wines but I don’t really see the appeal, especially without hops, as you only get a one-dimensional malt flavour rather than a multidimensional one.
