Draught Crystal clear old golden beer, no visible carbonation but good snowwhite head leaving textbook lace. Nose of boiling malts, pubdoors opening, banana, cornflakes, some spicy hints and clover. Bitter malts, in fact very good balance between (continental) hops and spicy malts. Toasted, corn. Indeed not very carbonated, medium bodied, quite gristslick, almost oily feel. Ultra classic, but at the same time with a very succesfull balance, rarely achieved.

C'est doux, ça manque d'intensité, ça manque de vivacité, ça manque de puissance, le tout sur des arômes moyennement intéressants. Tous les ingrédients sont là pour dire Bof, bof.... Rien d'exaltant donc pour une belge qui en oublie ses basiques. LE visuel est sur une robe brune avec une mousse beige nappant juste la surface. Le nez est sur un cocktail, caramel, candy, biscuit et noisette teintés de chocolat, café. L'ensemble manque de personnalité et d'intensité même si l'alcool est alors relativement présent. Celui-ci ne donnée cependant pas l'intensité que l'on peut retrouver dans nombre de bières belges et c'est au contraire la douceur qui domine. L'attaque présente de légères touches de réglisses en plus des arômes déjà présents au nez. L'ensemble est malheureusement trop plat. La deuxième bouche est un peu plus amère et avec un alcool à 6,5 % qui se noie. L’arrière-bouche, sur une corpulence moyenne, est davantage sur les arômes torréfiés et fait renaître un brin d'intérêt...Intérêt qui retombe net sur le final, qui retombe rapidement. 1907 n'est pas un bon cru.

Tap at BGB. Clear cola body, off-white head. Wine notes, red wine, lean but sweetish, yeasty touches. Sweet taste - raisins, wine, citric touches, a bit yeasty, heavy maltiness - but okay. Yeah, fine overall but not a wow.

bottiglia 33 cl, schiuma bianca fine media persistenza, colore giallo smorto velato, al naso subito coriandolo poi scorza d’arancio leggero banana e spezie, in bocca è fruttata agrumata lime coriandolo spezie frumento, corpo leggero, carbonazione moderata, amaro leggero. Bella aromatica e rinfrescante. Molto buona. c. Cantina della birra 16.01.22

Donkergeel bier met schuim. Smaak is licht bitter hoppig en fruitig met een heel licht zuurtje, wat gras en kruiden die ik niet kan thuisbrengen. Ik ben er eigenlijk niet zo kapot van moet ik zeggen, heeft meer weg van een Saison bier.

SI cette Lamoral jouit d'un très bon équilibre avec un alcool à 8 % impeccable structurant cette triple et soutenant parfaitement les arômes, je n'ai pas été touché par la proposition aromatique relativement basiques et sans réelle élégance sur une dominante miel accompagné de pêche et de céréales. Le visuel est sur un blond doré légèrement voilé recouvert d'une mousse blanche de 5 mm. Le nez est sur un quatuor alcool, miel, céréales et pêche pas désagréable, mais pas euphorisant non plus. En bouche on retrouve pareillement miel et alcool sur les devants. Belle structure typiquement belge cependant avec l'esprit Triple entièrement respecté, ce qui rend cette Lamoral tout à fait respectable. Sur l'attaque une très légère acidité permet de donner un petit peu de peps au duo malt/alcool qui de son côté donne du caractère. La deuxième bouche a même davantage de tempérament avec l'alcool jouant parfaitement son rôle et très bien intégré. Arrière-bouche et final sont néanmoins plus brouillonnes, bien que présentant respectivement une bonne ampleur et une bonne longueur. A mon sens pas la meilleure triple de belgique, mais elle ne lui fait pas déshonneur toutefois.

Draught @ SKAAL Sønderborg. Pours clear pale golden with stable white head. Clear aroma of malt and Belgian yeast, with touches of fruit and flowers. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of flowers and yeast and mild malty and fryity touches. Dusty and acidic afrtertaste. Reasonable for the style and quite enjoyable as such, too, although it is a little watery.

Bottle from Craft Beer Oasis, Crewe. (cheap because 5 years out of date !) Dark fruit and liquorice in the aroma – but not overpowering. Pours a murky dark brown (with sediment) with a sizeable beige head. Dark fruits and roast malts mixed in the mouth with added cough mixture (bronchial balsam) ! Chocolate and plums lie underneath in wait too. Finish is fruity in the mouth, but the alcoholic strength makes itself known in the throat and stomach ! Not bad at all, but not really a stout.

33cl bottle at home (26 X 2017), shared with LordZippo. Cloudy, golden coloured brew, quite a lot of vividness, with a towering white frothy collar. The mouthfeel is just velvet-like, even silky, with a dazzling herby character. This bitterness has a great onset for sure. The malty and grassy features are massive, making up for a leafy and dry palate. The alcoholic warming is not that harsh, which is very pleasant in this hoppy golden strong ale. This one has a good bitterness, but lacks the complexity one seeks in a strong Belgian - yet it really has that keen, lovely herby finish. Pretty basic, but with lovely carbonation and ditto hoppiness.
33cl bottle at home (9 VII 2021), as Buffalo Bitter. Golden orange brew, little hazy, with a sticky and frothy white collar on top: quite good looking. At the first pour, different hoppy flavours already arise - which is an enjoyable experience. In the nose however one firstly discovers the many Belgian yeast features with few malt dashes. The hops are rather good hidden. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a mild carbonation. Lots and lots of hops on the tongue, a keen mix between herbal and floral features. There are hemp and cannabis flavours, as well as lemon grass and lawn. This Buffalo Bitter is a strong indian pale ale, with a long lasting and atmost dry ending. Pretty decent, quite lovely.

Besteld op 1-03-2021 bij Poseidon Beers en thuis gebracht door Sander op 2-03-2021. Daar geproefd op 27-06-2021.
Kerstpater - Special Christmas 2020 wordt gebrouwen door Brouwerij Van Den Bossche uit Herzele. In 1997 werd het typische Belgische kerstbier van de Pater Lieven familie herdoopt tot Kerstpater en sinds dan is dit seizoensbier elk jaar verkrijgbaar vanaf 1 november.
KERSTPATER - SPECIAL CHRISTMAS 2020 is een helder donker-bruin bier dat bij het uitschenken veel beige-kleurig schuim produceert in een romig-moussige vorm. Het blijft sterk aan je glaswand kleven en blijft normaal stabiel. Het schuim gaat daarna langzaam weg tot er nog een fijn laagje van ongeveer 1 mm overblijft. Pareling heb ik niet opgemerkt wegens de te donkere kleur.
HET AROMA:
Kandij, karamel, chocolademout, geroosterde mout, moutig en een vineuse alcoholtoets.
DE SMAAK:
Zoetig, kandij en karamel, chocolademout
HET MONDGEVOEL:
Volle body en een romige textuur met een normaal prikkelend koolzuurgas.
DE NASMAAK:
Het zoete vloeit wat uit, chocolademout en achteraan in de afdronk een hint naar (opgelegde) kersen.
HET TOTAALGEVOEL:
Een licht verwarmend bier.
HET VERDICT:
Lekker zoet biertje, de chocolade tinten zijn niet te sterk. Verder maken de romige textuur en de volle body er een bier van gemaakt om van te genieten.
