28 January 2016. 7/3/6/3/11=3. Pours dark brown with a moderate, off-white, foamy head. The aroma contains caramel, sugar, dark fruits, some bread, syrup, Taste is medium sweet and stays in the long finish. Medium to light body but quite oily in texture. A warming beer to have with your food.
9 August 2017. Pours cloudy dark brown with a lasting, small, foamy, tan head. The arome contains lots of licorice (especially in the smell), candy (cane), caramel, brandy/alcohol, malt, chocolate and some spice. It tastes medium to heavy sweet and very light spicy bitter, with a long finish that has warming alcohol and sweet hints. Full body, syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. The sweetness is overwhelming, yes, but I enjoyed this much more than my previous rating showed.

Deep dark brown colour, small foamy tan head, mostly diminishing, almost no lacing. Aroma roasted malts, overripe fruit, apple syrup, liquorice. Taste is medium sweet and slightly sour, fruity, candied cherries, spicy notes, average to long duration, mild sweet and sourish aftertaste, cinnamon notes, bit woody. Light bitter touch in the finish, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, expected more bitterness and less sourness, disappointing.

(Draught at Kulminator, Antwerpen, 15 Oct 2015) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of chocolate, prunes and cherries. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, dried fruit, prunes, raisins, dark cherries and a gentle spicy bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Quite a fruity and vinous imperial stout, still in good balance. Nice one.

F: pale brown, average, average lasting, diminishing to thin film. C: dark red ruby to dark. A: sweet, dark fruit, some yeast, blackberries. T: sweet, fruity, malty, yeasty, only some tones of stout, hint of coffee, chocolate, sweet dried fruits like dates, figs, too sweet and quite simple for IS, but beside the style quite good beer, 0,33l bottle from Delhaize in Brussels, medium body, average carbo, nice bitterness on the palate together with pleasant sweetness.

Fles, thuis. Lekker muf bakkie. Smaakje doet me denken aan een Rochefort, maar ik zou ’m er naast moeten proeven om te checken of dat ergens op slaat.
