Description
Arthur Van den Bossche founded the brewery in 1897. After his death in 1925, Elenora Callebaut, Arthur's wife and daughter of the Callebaut brewers and chocolatiers family, continued the brewery. In 1935 Willy and Mark Van den Bossche, the 2nd generation, take the helm and further expand the brewery. Ignace son of Mark Van den Bossche, 3rd generation, becomes active in the brewery in 1976. In 2015 Bruno Van den Bossche takes over the brewery from his father. The 4th generation is now taking the lead.

Bottle @ Voldby tasting. Pours dark yellow with a white head, some floaties. Aroma of malt, yeast, sweet fruit. Flavor is malt, yeast, honey, sweet fruit. Medium body, lively carbonation. 221113

On tap at the klooster. Thick white head. Ckear golden pour. A decent tripel but a bit watery

Draft at Klooster. Pours clear orange golden with a thick off white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, malt, fruits and some caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Golden colour. Strong clove and coriander in the aroma. Sweet, spicy taste. A bit too sweet and too spicy.

33 cl. bottle with Niek @ Robert’s Pub, Veenendaal. Dark brown with a beige head. Caramel aroma. Caramel taste with lightly roasted malts. Dangerously drinkable.

Clear golden colour, white head. Malty aroma, citrus, banana, quite fruity. Sweet malty flavour, citrus and bread. Finish yeast, banana, malts, hint of raisins.

Bottle picked up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, nr Gent, Belgie, June 2013 consumed at home in company of Loz, Lynn & Barry Friday 18th October 2013 The b/a definately shows on the nose. Black in colour with off-white head. Flavours are predominantly chocolate but with some dried fruit and a swirl of vanilla its pretty good A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

bottle at bierhuyske pours dark with a red glow small , fast fading white head bit yeast in the smell low carbo . some bitterness, some sweet back. very gentle taste. aftertaste goes into coffe, than sweetness ( bit chocolate) but all in a very gentle, unintence way .
