330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, deep golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally grassy aroma, somehow fruity, biscuity, pale malty background, hints of gooseberry. Taste is pale malty, mildly strawy-grainy, grassy hoppy overtones, a touch of gooseberry. Kölsch with kind of Kentish hopping.

Bottle from Oddbins Beer Shop, Blackheath. Burnt orange pour with a thin white head. Lots of wood smoke and toffee in the aroma with some dark fruit and herb notes. Sweet fruit and smoke flavours. Dry finish.

330ml bottle. Clear, dark , deep copper colour with average, thick, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Fruity, malty aroma, notes of red berries, lingonberry especially. Taste is dry, nuttily malty, slightly floral hoppy overtones, some red berry remnants survive. Funny.

Keg @ Draft House Charlotte, London. Pale golden with a thin head. Not too recognisably a kolsch in style, but it has a lager malt nose I guess best described as a fair imitation attempt. Feels like an ale though and from a keg is quite crisp with a fruitiness in its taste.

330ml bottle. Clear, darkest copper colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Smoky aroma in ’literally ’"fishy" direction, smoked eel, trout, beechwood ashes, some co-incinerated straw, widely disguised caramel malty basis. Taste is smoky, minimally tart-ish strawy, a touch of clammy, rain-extinguished ashes, hints of greasy, fishy, smoked eel and trout again, roasty malty and grassy hoppy Altbier notes flash up in some caramel malty background’s gaps; slightly thin, insipid, flat carbo. Really nice one overall.

Bottle from London Drinker 2015 and drunk at home. Dark brown beer lasting tan head. Yes a complex malty beer. Some would say a bit confused rather than complex. Dry malt, some chocolate. Some harsh bitter hop on the finish. Lots of brown dryish malt, yet slightly juicy still. Hmmmm. Bit tight on the carbonation. After time it settles down into a strong chocolate malty beer. Decent enough. Bit harsh on the finish though. Almost unpleasantly so.

Bottle on Eurostar or Thalys London - Brussels - Rotterdam, Friday 13th March 2015 in company of Dad & Barry Had this on Thalys just as we set out from Brussels. Pours murky orange/amber, very little head, Barry thought that this was the best beer of the day, and I have to say I am not far away with his view, it?s a very good beer. Nice mouthfeel, citrussy and pithy a little numbing on the tongue. It’s taken me a little while to try an Orbit beer, but if this is anything to go by it won’t be long before I try some more, lovely. Cask at Pigs Ear 2014 - London. Pours unclear amber-gold with a creamy white head. The nose is all candied ham, caramel and smoke. Medium sweet flavor with loads more honey ham, mild smoked malts, toffee, berries. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sugary finish with smoked ham, gooey honey. Very nice stuff.
