Description
Heist started brewing from our old site in Clowne, Derbyshire in 2018, building a reputation for a wide variety of beers. The move to Sheffield was always on the cards and now allows us to expand operations with doubled fermentation capacity, an awesome new brewing team and plans to upgrade and replace the older 10HL brewkit in 2022. Although our plans had been severely delayed due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we are back at it, brewing flat out to service the new taproom and our fantastic customers across the country.

Growler fill from the LCB online shop. Pours still-looking black, there was a short-lived thin beige head. Aromas of chocolate, salted caramel, almonds. Taste is more of the same. Way too sweet for me. How about just making a nice stout?

Can. Blimey! This is a big one. Hazy orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate has some body as you might expect when 12% of it is alcohol but it remains fairly light overall, mildly dry and with good fine minerally carbonation. Soft malts, a creamy sweetness that would be over sweet in most 8%+ dipas, but here, there is more to compete with. Hops deliver crisp pine and a fair old hop spice nibble that starts straight away and remains even through the aftertaste. Savoury skunk, getting distinctly salty. Rich ripe tropical fruits, liqueur like. The Sabro here, coming over as a cheapish coconut liqueur. Some ripe rich citrus on the back end along with more hop spice. Good fun in an off your tits sort of way but lacks drinkability for me, half a can was more than enough.

Keg @ Tilt, Birmingham with Rich, John and Craig. Clear glowing gold appearance, white head. Rich sweet aroma. Taste is achingly sweet with strong alcohol, medium bodied with some juicy tropical moments. Just way too sweet for me.
