Draught@O’malleys, Vaasa (in autumn 2004, one of my first "ratings" from the times we with some friends in summer 2004 decided to have fun and start reviewing beers, little did I know TBone would get me hooked to this site in 2005...). Black colour, white to dirty yellow head. Aroma is roasted, some chocolate, mild spices as well,. Flavour is roasted malts along with a rather bitter and toasted finish. I’d love to get my hands on this one again, as it used to be one of my favourites when I began drinking beer.

Cask, half pint at Charlies Bar. Bubbly, white head, hazed golden body. Grass hoppy smell. Subdued hoppy fruits in flavour. Rounded bitter endnotes. Slightly oily palate. Easy going (Copenhagen, 29.05.2011).

500ml can. Pours gold with a large tight head. Aroma is corn, inoffensive but bland. Taste isn’t really there, bland, some corn, not nasty, just nothing really there.

50cl bottle. Pours a cloudy amber ale with gentle bubbles and a big head. The nose has honey, hay and nettles. More honey and nettles on the taste. The palate is rich in structure, quite creamy in texture and it cleans sufficiently on the end to make you want the next drink.

Half pint as Carling Extra Cold, only keg-beer available for rating at the pub called The Old Red Lion Theatre pub. Clear golden, almost no head. Smell is more or less nothing, notes of mineral water perhaps. Careful fruity hints in flavour, otherwise very tasteless. Watered and fizzy carbonated, no off-taste, though (London, 20.03.2011).

can@home, left by a friend, by accident(?):cheap, simple, somewhat shitty, should be simply called beer, even the can looks cheap, yet this is somehow strangely offensive
