Bottle via trade with brokephibroke. Hazy medium orange body, thin clumping cream head with significant lacing. Nose of floral and citrusy hops, caky yeast, breast malts, and hints of alcohol. Dense body, lots of citrus and pine with robust bitterness and a yeasty, toasty body with hints of alcohol. Slightly oxidized. Nice.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Bruce! Opaque dark brown beer, short dark tan head. Palate is light and a little dry. Nice mild carbonation. Very tangy dark malts. Some coffee and lesser dark chocolate. Very mild roast. Finishes dry and gum numbing! A bit strong on the tang.

Bottle at Bruce’s. It pours very dark brown with a tiny beige head. The nose is soft roast, mellow, caramel, treacle, vanilla, toasted coconut, smooth and brown sugar. The taste is roasted earth, toast, scorched earth, wood, cocoa, bourbon, alcohol warmth, burnt notes and some astringency. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Not much depth of flavour, but decent nonetheless.

Bottle Bruce’s - big thanks to the big guy. Nose carries a lot of rich, ripened dark fruits, raisins, some dark chocolate, dark toffee. Medium to big sweet flavor, some alcohol kick, a bit of bitter earth, some torched wood, a bit of hard alcohol, some dried dark berries. Full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Warming finish, some dry burnt wood, good roast, bitter baking cocoa, bitter earth, more dried berries. Nice overall. Could be a touch tamer but quite nice overall.
