2008 Vintage was mijn favoriete.

Bottle at Abbaye - Hazy orange coloured, medium sized head. Orange and lemon in aroma along with wheat notes. Flavour is weaker than normal Orval but still pleasant enough.

Poured into Orval chalice, thick velvety head lasts forever. Smooth taste balances all the ingredients perfectly. Very drinkable, even with the higher ABV. This is close to a perfect beer.

Bottle at Huppel de Pub, Den Haag. Poured a slighly cloudy straw colour with a huge frothy, long-lasting head. There’s a yeasty, fruity, spicy aroma with a hoppy bitter taste and a hint of sourness with some slight bitterness on the palate. I should drink this more often!
