Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is appelstroop, caramel malt, oak, brett, overripe fruits, stewed pears, red wine, tart red berries, plums, vinous notes. Flavour is quite sweet with some tartness. Body is full. Not as refined as the regular Rioja Bommen, but very nice regardless. Like an oak-aged 'Imperial Flanders Red' meets Barley Wine.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is herbal and spicy with juniper, orange peel, coriander, a touch of vegetable, and lime. Flavour is medium sweet. Body is medium. Bit of an odd one, some nice juniper and citrus peel, yet some not so nice vegetable-ish notes. Drinkable novelty beer.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is fairly heavy cocoa with brown malt, chocolate, caramel, nuts, touch of liquorice, and syrupy notes. Flavour is sweet with a moderate bitterness. Body is medium and annoyingly overcarbonated. Can't say I'm impressed with this one, it's a bit shoddy coming from De Molen.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is strong peat with wood, roasted malt, ash, some iodine and a touch of coffee, with more permeating peat throughout. Flavour is medium sweet with a fairly bitter finish. Body is medium to full. Nicely peated and roasty, but there's some sharpness akin to iodine in the aroma. Thankfully the peat is more pronounced.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Dried fruits and roasted malt aroma with raisins, chocolate, figs, oak, bourbon, alcohol, vinous notes, and some sharp iodine. Flavour is medium sweet with a fairly bitter finish. Body is full. Pretty decent, some nice dried fruits, but needs to mellow out more, it's a bit sharp.

From tap at Bierfestival Groningen 2018. Aroms is lots of light smokey Lapsang tea, anise, very spicy, soft ginger, malt, light chili, reminds of 'christmas spices'. Flavour is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is above medium. It's a little spicier than I like, but I think it works fairly well in this beer.

From tap at Bierfestival Groningen 2018. Aroma is powdery chocolate with dark malt, mild notes of coffee, cocoa, and light roast. Fairly sweet flavour with a light bitterness. Body is medium, should be a bit fuller. Decent and drinkable, but lacks some oomph.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is herbal hops with pale malt, tea, hints of fruits, herbal, dille. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is light. I'm not feeling this one, not a fan of the herbal hops.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sweet malt with bourbon, caramel fudge, wood, raisins, dried dark & red fruits, alcohol, figs, toffee, some candy sugar, and syrup. Flavour is quite sweet with a hint of tartness and a moderate bitterness. Somewhat boozy, but in a way that enriches. Body is full with a mildly sticky feel. Powerful flavour, rich aroma, nice barrel aging. De Molen at their best.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt with a strong thrust of bourbon, oak, and dark chocolate. The Woodford is really present. Flavour is medium sweet and bitter. Body is above medium. Drinks below its abv, not boozy at all. Some lovely Woodford notes, with roast and chocolate. No ugly booze and off-flavours, though the barrel influence is strong. Good one from De Molen!
