Bottle from Loco Liquor in Blairgowrie, Johannesburg, the BBE that was supposed to be printed on the cap is just a cloud of black printer dots
Hazy amber color with medium sized compact head. The aroma is rather sweaty, from the hops, a bit metallic, followed by some caramel, maybe vegetables. The caramel flavor is good, with a rather dry mouthfeel; the first sips were clean and pleasant, with a high bitterness level and some orangey hop qualities, but as I dig into the glass a coarser bitterness appears, more vegetables (from the yeast), and some chicory.
Still, it’s a good beer, but what happened there removes the excitement.

Draught at The Foundry, Johannesburg
Hazy dark blond color. It has a malty aroma with a bit of citrusy character. Dry mouthfeel with a good zesty aftertaste; correct bitterness level.
Good.

Amber color, clean, with big head. The aroma is nice, with fruity hops. Smooth mouthfeel, semi dry; good caramel and malt flavor, with good citrusy hopping.

Way too fizzy on opening.   Has a med brown colour.  Aroma is tart, mostly.  Mostly tart, yeasty, fizzy...no real malts coming out here.   Just too many qc problems.

Light tan colour.  Has a yeasty-footy aroma.  Thin body with too much tartness.  Light spiciness.  Nothing really comes together here, even when you look past the tartness.

Amber with some chill haze. Thin head. The aroma is slightly fruity. The taste has only mil bitterness and is fairly fruity (pear, and other vague orchard fruits). Finishes a bit sweet, more of an amber ale.

Straw colour. Earthy, slightly mushroomy continental hop character. Sweetish on the palate with some doughy malts. I’ve had a few macrobrews in Eastern Europe with this similar character.

(Bottle 34 cl) Pours a clear, deep golden with a small, white head. Lightly tart aroma and some floral accents. Medium body with a good malt feel and a distinct touch of aroma hops before a short, dry finish. The beer has an underlying tartness that is acceptable as of now, but I doubt it will be by expiry date July 08. However you do get the feeling of better raw materials in this one. 170508
