On tap @ Avery Strong Ale Fest 2015. Pours a murky orangish brown appearance with a light brown head. Roasty chocolate, spicy, floral aroma. Twangy berry, roasted chocolate malty flavor. Kind of spicy. High boost. I mostly got blackberries in this though I doubt there were any used in this. Kind of fun.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Supermarket Liquor for $6 I believe. Milky yellow orange appearance with an off white head. The aroma has some tropical fruit but also a lot of herbal hops, grass, and a bit of wood/stalky vegetation. Low sweetness. Moderate bitterness. Medium body. Milky texture. More herbs, grass, and straw in the flavor. Light fruit. Certainly overpriced like many of Trinity’s offerings but I probably wouldn’t buy it again even if it were cheaper.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Supermarket Liquor in Foco for $12 I believe. Cloudy orange appearance with a cream colored head. Slight gusher. Aroma is full of fruit- guava, peach, apricot, passion fruit- along so some herbs and grass. The flavor had fairly bitter with some sweetness. Nice peach, mango, tropical fruit flavor. Sort of like you would expect based on the name. Pretty refreshing. Kind of fun.

Rattle n Hum, NYC tap ($8): What a lucky find to find such a funky sour ale at RnH, especially that the brewery makes such small amounts of it. In any case, it pours a pale murky color with a white head. I got aroma of cheese, basement, straw. Really, cheese was the number one thing though. Taste was similarly funky. Some light fruitiness. I want to have this again, in light of reading the description (but I don’t want to return to midtown... ugh first world beer rater problems).

Bottle. Pours hazy amber, large puffy off-white head, dissipates slowly wiht nice residual lacing. Aroma is mosaic, passionfruit, melon, guava, oak, lemon. Flavor is light sweet, and light plus tart. Not getting a ton of bitterness - certainly nohwere near the reported 100 IBU. Super fruity and tropical, citrus zest apparent along with tons of things that normally appear in fruity beach drinks stuck to a cocktail umbrella. Medium body, full mouthfeel. God I love dry hopped sour beers.

Bottle at home. Pours hazy orange yellow. Nose is tropical fruit and light funk. Tastes of mango, melon, pineapple, grapefruit, dry hops, grassy white wine, some tart sourness. Dry and fruity finish. Some lemony puckering.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s. Pours a touch hazy, light golden appearance with a big off white head. Aroma has some butter, spices, light funk, pear, apple, and lemon. Thin body. Grassy and grainy flavor with some pear/apple and butter. Pass.

[3/2/15] Draught at Brouwer’s Cafe in Seattle. Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma with lots of barnyard, hops, fruity and a bit floral, and a bit of lacto. Sour flavor, quite puckering, fruity, with lacto, funk, hops, and a finish with some bitterness mixed in and an astringent note. Medium-bodied. Very good.
