"Eschbacher Apfelwein naturtrüb", Literflasche von REWE, Fronhausen, 23.6.2026. - Blaßgelb, trüb. - In der Nase leichte, im Antrunk recht kernige apfelige Herbe, etwas blasse aber natürlich wirkende fruchtige Säure, Anklänge an Holz und Keller, zarte Schärfe. Angenehm schlank und trocken, dabei rund und erfrischend. - Angenehm säuerlich-herber Ebbelwei, nicht zu extrem aber auch nicht belanglos. "Traditional cider without turning hipster" - diese Bewertung eines Mitverkosters trifft es.

75cl bottle from REWE Frankfurt. Pours a pale gold, moderate sparkle. Slight honeyed side to this, a little slick on the tongue but finishing oh so dry.. ok overall.

330ml can from REWE Frankfurt. Pours a pale mist yellow, soda-level of carbonation. Strong lemon nose. Tart lemon juice forming much of the flavour profile, some sugary cidery sweetness in the background. Not for me.

500ml can from REWE, Frankfurt. Pours a pale translucent golden yellow, sparkling water level of carbonation. Very distant sweet apple skin aroma. Very weak tasting, diluted way too much by sparkling water, faint apple glimpses.. Do people really drink this??

Can, REWE Bodenmais, on the train to Klatovy. Reddish body, pale, bit salmony, lively carb, any semblance of a head gone soon. Berry, dried berry aroma. Dry, bit tart taste, blackcurrant juice, some blackberry maybe, carbonated berry wine, actually not off in any way. Not very appley but... For a flavored cheap cider, this is top class.

0.33l can, REWE Bodenmais. Pale golden body, fleeting head. Some funky apple notes and lemon, bit dusty. Dry taste, citric, sweetish apple notes, some citric touches. Simple, not not tasty, lighter lemon than expected, the base cider is so-so, but.... Okay, works.
