Bottle from Cornelius. It pours cloudy deep red with a thick yellow-white head. The aroma is rich, malt - driven, toast, cereal, red fruit, berry, some jam, orange peel, spice, salty edge and banana. The taste is bitter, earthy, spicy, wood, leather, orange peel, vinous, grape skin, cranberry, jam, marmalade, hint of banana and some alcohol with a dry finish. Medium + body and moderate carbonation. Has a great depth of flavour to it. Rich and challenging. A joy to drink.

Bottle shared at the Canary wharf tasting 16/02/2016. Many thanks to Paulo for this one. Hazed nut brown coloured pour with a lasting loose mid tan head. Aroma is musty wood, jammy fruit, plum, little powdered choc. Flavour is composed of nice airy wood, jammy fruit, choc, plum, dry powdered choc. Palate is airy and frothy, slightly creamy. Nice fruity yeast character, good jammy fruits.

Level 42 Tasting. Thanks to Scopey. Hazy dark amber - brown beer, good pale tan head. Airy palate, semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. The dark malts are fluffy but bring a mild roast bitterness. Low level but strong tang. Tangy fruits, ripe fruits, bruised fruits. Touches of marmite and molasses. Light semi dry finish. Rich and tasty. Always good to step back in time and get a feeling for the beers of yore.

Cask at the Hanging Bat. Probably one of the last new Luckie beers, sadly. Beautiful clear red amber, thick, creamy head. Aromas of caramel, toffee. Taste is caramel up front, faint bitterness cleans it up. Creamy texture. Light sweet finish.
