Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - a beautiful deep amber or lava colour. A big lively head but it disappears very quickly. Shame as it would’ve been a 5. Nose - tangy orange and a hint of dry red fruit. Almonds. Taste - more tangy orange not quite as shreddy as marmalade. Palate - medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - complex, tasty and interesting.

500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours black with a thin ring of tan head. Aromas are earthy, some stone fruit, dark chocolate, nuts, toffee, rich and fruitcake. Taste is bitter, roast, coffee, light liquorice. Long bitter linger. Interesting, and lots going on for the strength. Not sure I’d want to sit and drink pint after pint of it, but good stuff.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Ruby body with a thin off-white head. Lively carbonation. Very faint lacing. Aroma of cider, syrup, apple, yeast and cranberry. Flavour of caramel, toffee apple, tangy red fruits and earth. Medium body with a frothy texture. Lively fizz. Reminiscent of Orval - never a bad thing. Sweet and easy drinking. A great beer that would probably age well.

500ml bottle from alesela. Not going to change comments much from the below. Carbonation much higher though, made it a little thinner. Cask at the hanging bat. As Aged porter, but abv a close match. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, redcurrants, roast. Taste is tarry, more chocolate and fruit. Heavy roast. Long finish.
