Clear amber with a thin white head. Aroma of toasty malts, fruits, light yeast, and a bit of molasses. Thin, overly carbonated body. What happened to the toasted malts in the flavor? Not much going on here. A bit of grains, really light toast, and maybe some light fruit. A let down.

Bottle. Poured an amber magenta with a thin white head. Aroma was full of berries with an undertone of wheat. Flavor had an awkward combination of berries (rasp, blue, black and straw) with the same wheat undertone.

Bottle. Poured a golden amber with an off-white head. Aroma was full of malts with grain, hay and cereal notes. Flavor was one note malt throughout, mainly grain.

Deep ruby with a rocky tan head. Malty, toasted, some wood, molasses in the aroma. Smooth body. The flavor is similar to the aroma and is rather boring. The molasses hits the hardest on the finish while the toasted malts are there for the rest. Like most of the other Leinenkugel beers I’ve had this one isn’t bad- it’s just boring and bland.

Amber brown with a light tan head. Toasted malts, caramel, light chocolate, some fruits in the aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is sweet malts, fruity, and some toasted malt. Not bad at all but it’s just super boring.

16th August 2008. Clear amber coloured lager. Malty start, much more malt than a pale lager. The malt is also quite sweet. Finishes crisp with some mild hop presenting. Basically a malty lager!

Bottle. Small, fizzy head, off-white, almost fully diminishing. Amber body. Weak aroma of caramel, grain with just a hint of flowers. Slightly sulphuric. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. The finish is lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not much character, especially for an Oktoberfest. Grainy, unrefined malt profile. Not much going on here.

12 oz bottle. Smells like wheaty lemonade. Pale, pale yellow in appearance with a medium-sized head, surprisingly good lacing. The head retains itself throughout. Even balance between the beer and the lemonade. What a strange beer. I’ve never had a shandy before and had never even heard of one til Leinenkugel’s came out with this. I guess it’s a more well-known style in Europe. I often give high marks to brewers who try different things and experiment--if they succeed and the beer in question is tasty that is. I think this beer succeeds. I’m drinking it in the fall, but I can imagine it tastes even better after being out in the hot summer sun.

12 oz bottle. Weak malt aroma. Pours a light amber hue, small head. Very tame amber. Very little malt presence. Sour aftertaste. Boring.
