Description
With the creation of Village brewery De Meester we want to re-establish the tradition of artisan brewing in Kuurne. Our beers are brewed solely according to the traditional brewing processes, with the greatest care and only with natural raw materials. For our beers, we use hop flowers from Poperinge exclusively and refrain for using nor colour pigments, nor foam improvers, nor artificial seasonings. The result of this traditional work methods are the beers of Village brewery De Meester. Beers with character, interwoven with aromas from the different local hops.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark reddish mahogany with no head. Aromas of candi sugar, apples/calvados, oak, raisins and toasted malts. Flavors follow same with more pronounced sugars and some minerals. Nice warm dry finish. Very good.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with full head. Aromas of fruity dark fruit, candi sugar, caramel, a little spice, a little mineral water, and bready malts. Flavors follow same with emphasis on figs and minerals. Comes across as more of a Belgian Quad than a Barleywine. Good stuff.

Deep dark, almost black with red sheen under a cream-tan head. Bit rainwater, then outspoken vinous, red wint. Fruit, red fruit/berries. Wood, dry, ultra-dry wine, tannines, long aftertaste with red fruit. Pappy, alcoholwarmth. Very well-bodied, almost chewy. Excellent, but I think the cherry explosion might have been more pronounced.

Bottle at Toogoloog Middlekirke. Hazy orange gold colour lasting white head. Malty tripel aroma. Some fruit. Some hop. Some spicy hop. Fine. Decent tripel. Doesn't leap out of the glass but fine.

13 September 2025. At 17de Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to the whole crew!

Soap, lavender, yellow apple, lemongrass. Sourish green apple, lime, spicy lemongrass, soap. Grassy hops, spices, yellow fruits. Quite dull and soapy, I'm missing some of that champagne freshness.
