Description
With the creation of Village brewery De Meester we want to re-establish the tradition of artisan brewing in Kuurne. Our beers are brewed solely according to the traditional brewing processes, with the greatest care and only with natural raw materials. For our beers, we use hop flowers from Poperinge exclusively and refrain for using nor colour pigments, nor foam improvers, nor artificial seasonings. The result of this traditional work methods are the beers of Village brewery De Meester. Beers with character, interwoven with aromas from the different local hops.

Pours rather clear, dark caramelly brown. No head. Smell is thick, unfresh dark malts. Taste is sharp, tad sweet, mildly phenolic. Dry ending, bit sugary. Rather high carbo. Medium mf. Earlier Rating: 12/25/2016 Total Score: 3.3At Kerstbierfestival 2016 , thnx for sharing everyone ! Pours clear, very dark brown. small white head. Smell is spiced, bit sweet. Taste is sharp, bit bitter, spiced. Sweet. Bit too sweet for me. Spiced. seems rather simple as I mostly get the sweetness and spices, no real depth or balance.

Bottle from Harris Teeter in Alexandria, VA.Medium brown in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Toasty malts, slight touch of berry fruit, hint of chocolate, leading to a bitter finish. Ok.

12 oz. bottle. Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, bread, nuts. Some fruitiness. Taste follows nose. Has some burnt notes, maybe some spruce. Caramel and spices. Not great, but probably one of Abita's better efforts.

F: big, light tan, good retention. C: deep gold, hazy, yeasty debris. A: malty, light citrus, grapefruits, orange. T: malty backbone, strong long lasting bitterness, bit phenolic, grapefruits, if you like it bitter then very nice, for such low ABV really enjoyable, medium body and carbonation, sample @ Winters Bier Festival 2017 in Waregem.

Hazy black with a lasting, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, ripe banana, coffee, caramel and hops. It tastes medium malty & caramel-like sweet and light roasted bitter; slightly alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Very good; palate could have been stronger.

Hazy orange with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of yeast, fruity hops, grass, some pineapple, malt, grain & pine. It tastes light sour and medium to heavy hoppy bitter; dry and rather grainy in the finish. Light body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Not my cup of tea when it comes to Session IPAs, as I prefer them more fruity and floral.

Cloudy black with a frothy, tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, licorice, dark fruits, roasted malt and peat. It tastes medium malty & sugary sweet and light roasted bitter, quickly becoming bourbon-like alcoholic again - very warming. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very inviting; anyway not lacking in a punch of alcohol, but could have had an even fuller body for its ABV and style.

It tastes medium malty and caramel-like sweet and light spicy bitter; warming punch of bourbon alcohol in the finish. Medium body, slick/oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Satisfying!
