Got a single from the LCBO (but comes in 6-pack), written on front label BB NOV /13. Pours a very dark colour with little red highlights. Big light brown-coloured head with great retention and some dirty lacing. Coffee aromas were released at first, but left pretty quickly, remaining with hoppy grass smell. After breathing some more, sweet caramel comes out, but all of this is very mild. The mouthfeel is between oily and creamy. The taste is pretty mild as well. Roasted malts, a little sweetness, raisins, grass and chocolate. Thankfully, this one is not too sweet, as listed in the ingredients are lactose (milk sugar), sugar and caramel. Because it is mild all-around, this one is easier to drink, but the sweetness will still, eventually get to you.

330ml can. Dark brown-black colour, foamy beige head which diminishes leaving some lacing and aroma of roast malt, coffee & chocolate. Taste is sweet roast malt, some fruitiness, an earthy smokey bitterness and nutty notes. Watery thin mouth feel, light to medium bodied, low carbonation, clean finish. OK.

330 ml bottle sampled in 2008. Clear golden body with a medium sized white head. Aroma is weak malt, grain and somehow fruity. Flavor is sweet, harsh bitter, sharp alcoholic. Thin body and a bit sour in aftertaste. Too alcoholic and unbalanced.

A little sweet for my liking, though still a very decent offering. Pours pitch black with decent head and lacing. Aroma of coffee and lots of caramel. Finishes sweet and coffee bitter. Average carbonation, consistency on the syrupy side. Bottle.
